“Ma se vuoi essere saggia Pomona/ non accettare nozze banali e scegli come compagno di letto Vertumno./ Egli non vaga qua e là frivolo per il mondo,/…e non fa come tanti che s’innamorano d’ogni donna che vedono: tu sarai la sua prima e ultima fiamma e a te sola dedicherà tutta la sua vita./…è giovane e da natura ha il dono della bellezza, / …poi non avete gli stessi gusti? Non è il primo a prendersi i frutti che ti stanno a cuore, a stringere lieto in mano i tuoi doni?” (Ovidio, Metamorfosi)

La splendida favola di Vertumno e Pomona, narrata da Ovidio nelle Metamorfosi e celebrata a più riprese nell’arte figurativa moderna, ci presenta una ninfa sdegnosa dell’amore, amante dell’aria aperta, sempre dedita ai lavori agresti e ai suoi compiti nella produzione dei frutti. Desiderata da molti uomini, divinità e satiri, venne amata in particolar modo da Vertumno, il dio delle stagioni e delle trasformazioni di origine etrusca. Vertumno adottò tutti i travestimenti possibili per avvicinarla e, camuffandosi ora da contadino, ora da raccoglitore, aratore o falciatore, non perdeva occasione per “godersi lo spettacolo di Pomona e della sua bellezza”. Ovidio conclude che, dopo gli innumerevoli insuccessi, Vertumno riprese l’aspetto giovanile apparendo a Pomona in tutto il suo splendore e proprio quando egli si apprestava a prenderla con la forza, ella venne sedotta dalla bellezza del nume. Così anche la sdegnosa “Signora dei frutti e dei semi”, fu vinta dall’amore.

L’amore tra Vertumno e Pomona simboleggia il rinnovamento del tempo e della natura attraverso i frutti della terra nella stagione estiva. L’estate infatti non è solo la stagione per eccellenza dell’amore, della passione, della vitalità; ma è anche il periodo in cui la terra fecondata ci regala i suoi frutti; è il momento della mietitura del grano come ricorda il famoso dipinto di Pieter Brughel il Vecchio “ I mietitori”; è la stagione che più di ogni altra ci affascina con i suoi ricchi colori e profumi inebrianti; è il momento in cui il sole raggiunge il massimo della sua energia tingendo di tonalità calde una natura rigogliosa che si mostra in tutta la sua bellezza, come nei “Covoni di fine estate” di Claude Monet.
Con “Summer Art Florence” anche la Galleria360 vuole dare il suo personale benvenuto all’estate. Infatti, accensione cromatica, irrefrenabile desiderio di libertà e di spazi sconfinati oltre i limiti fisici della tela, intensità luminosa, interazioni creative e fantasia, sono solo alcuni degli ingredienti principali di una mostra collettiva nella quale artisti di diverse nazionalità ricordano attraverso le loro opere l’atmosfera tipica della stagione estiva. Si tratta dell’ultimo ed imperdibile evento, prima della chiusura estiva. La Galleria360 ripartirà con le proprie attività artistiche dall’11 di Settembre, con un calendario ricco di mostre irrinunciabili per offrire sempre ai suoi visitatori, collezionisti ed amanti dell’arte, indimenticabili esperienze estetiche e culturali d’avanguardia.
L’inaugurazione della mostra d’arte contemporanea “Summer Art Florence” avrà luogo Giovedì 25 Giugno 2015 alle ore 19.00, in via il Prato 11r Firenze. Durante la serata verrà offerto un cocktail di benvenuto con musica jazz dal vivo. La mostra sarà visitabile fino al 20 Luglio 2015.

“But if you want to be wise Pomona/ don’t accept a trivial marriage and choose as bedfellow Vertumno / He doesn’t wander frivolous here and there for the world /…and doesn’t behave like many men who fall in love with every woman they see: you will be his first and last flame and he will dedicate his entire life only to you./…is young and by nature has the gift of beauty,/… then you have the same taste, don’t you? He is the first to take the fruits that you care about and to tighten happily in his hand your gifts, isn’t he? ” (Ovidio, Metamorfosi)
The wonderful tale of Vertumnus and Pomona, told by Ovidio in the Metamorphoses and celebrated several times in modern figurative art, presents us a nymph disdainful about love, lover of the outdoors, always dedicated to the rural work and to her tasks in the production of the fruits. Desired by many men, gods and satyrs, she was particularly beloved by Vertumnus, the god of seasons and transformations of Etruscan origin. Vertumno adopted all possible disguises to bring it close and, now dressing up as a peasant, now as plowman or mower, he never missed an opportunity to “enjoy the sight of Pomona and her beauty.” Ovidio concludes that, after countless failures, Vertumno resumed the youthful look appearing at Pomona in all his splendor and just when he was about to take her by force, she was seduced by the beauty of the deity.
The love between Vertumnus and Pomona symbolizes the renewal of time and nature through the fruits of the earth in the summer season. Summer is not only the season par excellence of love, passion, vitality; but it is also the period in which the fertilized land gives us its fruits; is the time of wheat harvest as remembered the famous painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder “The harvesters”; it is the season which fascinates us with its rich colors and heady scents; it is the moment in which the sun reaches its maximum energy tinged with warm tones a luxuriant nature that shows itself in all its beauty, as in “Sheaves of the end of summer” by Claude Monet.
With “Summer Art Florence” Galleria360 wants to give its personal welcome to summer. In fact, chromatic lighting, irrepressible desire for freedom and for boundless spaces beyond the physical limits of the canvas, luminous intensity, creative interactions and imagination, are just some of the main ingredients of a group exhibition in which artists from different nationalities remember through their artworks the typical atmosphere of the summer season. This is the last and unforgettable event, before the summer break. The Galleria360 is going to restart with its artistic activities from 11thof September, with a full calendar of unmissable exhibitions in order to offer its visitors, collectors and art lovers, unforgettable aesthetic and cultural avant-garde experiences.
The inauguration of the “Summer Art Florence” contemporary art exhibition will take place on Thursday 25th of June 2015 at 19:00, in via il Prato 11r Florence. During the evening we will be offered a welcome cocktail with live jazz music. The exhibition will be open until 20th of July 2015.
